Job Description

The IT Business Analyst is responsible for working with internal staff to optimize processes and improve quality for the design, development, and maintenance of VDOT Software Systems. They will learn and understand the operational systems, consult with business and technical teams to develop requirements for system improvements, translate requirements into technical specifications, prepare diagrams to explain modifications, propose alternative solutions, assure business and technical compatibility and performance, and drive project delivery through the project lifecycle using Agile principles. Technical experience in Test Plan/Storyboard/Requirements and requirements elicitation, storyboard development, wireframe preparation, test planning, and test execution is required.

• Responsibilities

- Work with internal staff to optimize processes and improve quality for the design, development, and maintenance of VDOT Software Systems. - Learn and understand the operational systems. - Consult with business teams and technical teams to develop requirements for improvements to systems. - Translate requirements into technical specifications. - Prepare diagrams explaining modifications. - Propose alternative solutions balancing cost and benefit. - Drive consistent project delivery through the entire project lifecycle. - Track and export project metrics. - Ensure the team practices Agile principles. - Have technical experience in Test Plan/Storyboard/Requirements. - Experience in requirements elicitation, storyboard development, wireframe preparation, test planning, and test execution.

• Qualifications

We are seeking an IT Business Analyst with at least 5 years of experience in IT software/application projects. Strong understanding of Scrum concepts, experience with Scaled Agile and Kanban methodologies, technical experience in organizing and maintaining sprint and product backlogs, translating client and product strategy requirements into application requirements and user stories, and ability to analyze and document business and system processes. Prior State of VA IT Business Analyst experience is strongly preferred.

• Ability to analyze and document business and system processes
• Prior State of VA IT Business Analyst Experience strongly preferred
