On August 2, 2026, the European Commission’s AI Office, in collaboration with national authorities, commenced enforcement of key transparency requirements under the EU Artificial Intelligence Act.
The new rules mandate that certain AI systems, including interactive chatbots and AI-generated content, must disclose to users when they are interacting with AI and must also label AI-generated or altered content clearly.
This enforcement marks a significant step in ensuring transparency and accountability in AI applications across the European Union.
Additionally, enforcement of some high-risk provisions will be phased in accordance with the Digital Omnibus amendments, reflecting a measured approach to regulation implementation.
